WHAT IS TAP?

An ICD-10-CM Manual Annotation Technique

TAP™ is an annotation technique for the ICD-10-CM manual.  TAP is the Acronym for Tab your manual, Annotate the Guideline, and Place an indicator (to remind you there is an associated guideline.  TAP was created in 2015.  It is the first published ICD-10-CM published annotation technique, and is responsible for many students passing the medical coding exams.

TAP ACADEMY CURRICULUM

Estimated Time of Completion: 6 hours

TAP Academy Course Features: Instruction on ICD-10-CM Manual guideline notations and quizzes for each chapter to test notation effectiveness.

  • Symptoms, Signs, and abnormal clinical and laboratory findings, NEC

  • Injury, Poisoning, and Certain Other Consequences of External Causes

  • External Causes of Morbidity

  • Factors Influencing Health Status

  • Codes for Special Purposes
